Short version: Digital Dash works without an account and then keeps everything on your device. If you sign in, your dashboard is saved to this site's database so it syncs between your devices, and only you can read it. Your data is never sold.
Without an account
Tasks, events, timers, balances, settings and photos you add are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent anywhere.
With an account
- Sign-in. You can sign in with an email link or with Google. With Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to identify your account.
- Your dashboard. Your dashboard data (tasks, events, courses, balances, goals, settings and similar) is stored in a database hosted by Supabase in Canada. Database rules make each account's data readable only by that account.
- Photos. Background and widget images are stored in a private storage area that only your account can access.
- Reminders. If you turn on reminders, your device's push address and upcoming reminder times and titles are stored so notifications can be sent. They are delivered through your browser's push service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla).
- Email and text reminders. If you turn these on, reminders for the tasks you choose are sent to your account email through Resend, and to your mobile number through Twilio. Your number is stored only after you confirm it with a code we text you, and is used only for reminders. Each email has a link to stop emails, replying STOP stops texts, and you can remove your number at any time.
- AI helper. Only when you use it, the titles, urgency and due dates of the tasks involved, and for week planning the titles of your next 7 days of events, are sent to Anthropic's AI to make a plan. We count requests per account to enforce a daily limit.
- Gym. Workouts, sets, routines and bodyweight you log in Health are part of your dashboard data: stored on your device, and in your account if you sign in, readable only by you. They are not shared with anyone or sold.
- Friends. If you turn on Friends, your display name, a friend code, an optional username and profile photo, and your weekly focus time and session count are stored. Usernames are unique, so anyone who types yours can check it's taken and send you a request. Only people whose friend request you accepted (or who you sent one to) see your name, your photo is shown only to accepted friends and to people you sent a request to, and only accepted friends see your focus time. You can hide your focus time, remove friends, and deleting your account removes all of it.
- Study rooms. When you join a room, people with the same room code see your display name, whether you are focusing and, if you choose, your top task. Room activity is not stored.
Other services
- Spotify. If you connect Spotify, the sign-in tokens stay on your device and are used only to show what is playing.
- App launch list. If you join the list on the home page to hear when the iPhone and Android apps are out, we store that email address and which phone you picked. It's used once, to tell you the apps have launched, and is never shared or sold. Ask us and we'll remove it.
- Fonts. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard server logs such as IP addresses.
Your choices
- Download a copy of your data at any time from the account menu.
- Delete your account from the account menu. This removes your saved dashboard, photos, reminders and devices from the database.
- Signing out can also clear the data on that device.
