What is the Pomodoro technique?

It's a simple way to study or work: focus on one thing for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four sessions take a longer 15 to 30 minute break. Short, fixed blocks make it easier to start and harder to drift.

Questions

How long is a Pomodoro?

The classic Pomodoro is 25 minutes of focus followed by a 5-minute break. After four, take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It counts from the real clock, so it stays accurate in a background tab, and the chime plays when the time is up.

Can I change the length?

Yes. Choose 25 / 5, 50 / 10 or 90 / 20 here. In Digital Dash you can make your own timers from 10 seconds to 10 hours.

Is it free?

Yes. This timer and the full Digital Dash app are free to use.
